19th Century Old Paris Porcelain Vases, Pair
Pair of 19th-century Old Paris (Vieux Paris) hand-painted and parcel-gilt porcelain vases. The pure white porcelain is decorated in the Rococo revival style of the 1860s with naturalistic and floral motifs on front and back. The front sides also have two winged cherubs and two polychrome paintings depicting courtship and birth. The handles are shaped as free-flowing oak branches with leaves and fruit. Marking on underside. Minor gilt loss.
